Owner
For several generations, the Anney family has been able to give its letters of nobility to this vineyard. With all the passion and family energy, Christophe Anney watches over this priceless terroir, this precious jewel inherited from his ancestors. Attentive care, constant demand, latest generation equipment... every detail is thought out to create a rare, round and charming wine, with smooth and powerful tannins.

Presentation:
A magnificent hillside of gravel in the heart of the Saint-Estèphe terroir, this land “in medio aquaue” (in the middle of the waters), mysterious and fascinating, planted with the finest and noblest grape varieties… Such is the cradle of Château Haut Baradieu. It is also the story of an old Médoc family which gradually, over the generations, built up this estate. As early as 1678, old parchments mention a certain “Anney”, a plowman in the commune of Potensac in the Médoc. In 1876, his descendant Pierre began the adventure in Saint-Estèphe by buying a small wine estate called “Villa Ossian” which would later become Château Haut Baradieu.

Vineyard
It was in the 1930s that Pierre Anney, from a long line of winegrowers, was able to acquire a magnificent estate which today extends over 21 hectares of beautiful gravel. He bottled his wine early and then also purchased Château Tour des Termes in Saint-Estèphe. This vintage comes from a 3-hectare plot made up of vines averaging 25 years old. Today Jean and Christophe Anney continue the family tradition.

Winemaking
The vinification is traditional with a long maceration of 2 to 3 weeks. Aging then lasts 12 months in barrels. Filtration before bottling.
