Peyros Marie Blanque Madiran |
Peyros (stony place in Gascon) is the southernmost property of the Madiran appellation. It enjoys a 20 ha terroir dense with pebbles. Bought in 1999 by the Lesgourges family, it has since benefited from nature-friendly methods. Marie Blanque is the latest from Peyros, resulting from a plot selection of old vines (35 to 40 years old), from plots facing south. It was Emmanuel Lesgourges, in a series of drawings, who summoned memories of his native Pyrenean foothills by dreaming of a cuvée similar to the wine of his youth. Its nose is expressive, on candied black fruits with a light woodiness. The mouth is round, with an attack marked by a nice sweetness. The typicality of Tannat makes its appearance at the end of the mouth, with a powerful but elegant finish, coated tannins as well as a good length. Grape: Tannat Taste and flavor: Powerful and full-bodied Alcohol content: 13.5° To be enjoyed at 16°C with grilled red meats, lamb, confit meats, small game, pan-fried foie gras, stuffed vegetables, poultry or sheep's cheese. |
