Vineyard: Burnt during the revolution, the Château de Barbe was rebuilt at the same time as the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux, by Victor Louis. It is a superb residence, which dominates the Gironde, surrounded by its vineyard in one piece: 42 ha of limestone hillsides in the Côtes de Bourg appellation, 12 ha in the Bordeaux appellation, and 13 ha in the Bordeaux supérieur appellation. It is there, on the edge of the estuary, that the "Chapelle de Brivazac" is produced.
