Owner Thibaut and Magali Decoster

Description: Candale Castle probably originates from Lady Margaret of Suffolk Kandall, descendant of Edward III, King of England and Duke of Aquitaine. His marriage to Count Jean de Foix enabled him to add to his titles that of Count de Candale. The count and countess of Foix-Candale enjoyed at their table the wines of their fiefdom of Saint-Émilion, already renowned at that time thanks to the demanding quality rules decreed by the Jurade of Saint-Émilion.
Since 2017, Magali and Thibaut Decoster have been the new operators of Château de Candale. They succeed Jean-Louis Vicard, the famous cooper. The property, which produces Château de Candale and Château Roc de Candale, also hosts the restaurant L'Atelier de Candale (with chef Cyrille Gallard, at the helm since 2012), a space for gastronomy and meetings around wine.
