Domaine Guigal is one of the main producers of Rhône Valley wines. The property was created by Étienne Guigal in 1946, but is currently owned by Philipe Guigal of the 3rd generation. The vineyard covers more than 215 hectares. They are divided between the village of Ampuis and the surrounding municipalities. The vines are located on the Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage and Saint-Joseph appellation terroirs. The house also produces other great southern appellations of the Rhône valley such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas and Tavel.

The vinification is traditional. After a long maceration, the wine is aged for a year and a half in oak casks.

There are an impressive 4.5 million bottles of the 2016 Cotes du Rhone, a ripe, silky wine that should bring pleasure to thousands of consumers. Cherries and raspberries mark the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate adds nuances of cola, tree bark and spice.
