Closde Bezez Chambertin

Frédéric Magnien is the fifth generation of winemakers in his family. With experience abroad and a degree in oenology, he established his own winery as a négociant and winemaker in 1995. His vines are on average over 55 years old and are planted in limestone and stony soil with a touch of clay. Since 1996, every stage of the winemaking process has been guided by the lunar cycles. The subsoil is rocky, allowing the roots of the old vines to draw deep into the minerals and essential elements that give this wine its character.

Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, and punch-downs are performed manually. The wine is aged first in old oak barrels and then in stainless steel tanks.

Tasting Notes
The nose is fruity with aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry, as well as floral notes of violet. The palate is elegant with refined tannins and a beautiful breadth, revealing aromas of undergrowth and prunes. Charm and elegance abound, a perfect expression of the Gevrey-Chambertin terroir.

Grape variety: Pinot Noir
Alcohol: 14%

Serving suggestion: Serve at 14-16°C when young, 17-18°C when mature, with roasted meats, leg of lamb, game, or aged cheeses.
