Origin and Terroir
Nestled on the right bank of the Garonne River, Château Escalette thrives on well-drained limestone-clay soils characteristic of the Côtes de Bourg appellation. This unique terroir imparts a distinct minerality and freshness to the grapes, shaping the wine’s refined structure.
Winemaking Process
Harvested at optimal ripeness, the Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) grapes undergo traditional vinification. Fermentation in temperature-controlled vats is followed by aging for 12–18 months in French oak barrels, allowing subtle oak nuances to integrate seamlessly with the fruit.
Tasting Notes
Château Escalette Côtes de Bourg Bordeaux reveals an inviting bouquet of dark fruits—black cherry, plum—and delicate hints of cedar and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a well-balanced acidity that carries a long, elegant finish.
Food Pairing
This versatile red pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, duck confit, beef stews, and aged cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C to fully appreciate its aromatic complexity and textural depth.
