Domaines Ott - Château Romassan
Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur - Bandol AOP
Vineyard
Château Romassan produces great wines, typical and characteristic of the Bandol appellation. Located to the west of the Var, the estate is made up of 80 hectares of vines averaging 25 years old. It was acquired in 1956 by Marcel Ott and his children. Made up of limestone, sandstone and marl, nourished by gravel, this unique land, associated with the sun-kissed and particularly dry microclimate, produces elaborate and powerful wines for aging.
Winemaking
The harvest is manual. Vinification and aging on lees in stainless steel vats and passage in barrels for several months.
Tasting
Dressed in a beautiful shiny light peach color, the first nose is fresh and fruity. It develops aromas of apricots and grapefruit. At the opening, finely spicy notes as well as citrus notes intermingle with the aromas of white-fleshed fruits. The palate is frank, delicious and complex. It is marked by a beautiful structure and a touch of acidity on the finish giving it a beautiful amplitude and a pleasant persistence.
