Les Pas Perdus Brouilly
Beaujolais - Brouilly AOP
Vineyard
Corcelles Castle was rebuilt on the foundations of an old stronghold built in the Carolingian era. The Richard family took over the torch of this prestigious property in 1984. Les Pas Perdus is a cuvée produced at the Château. It comes from plots located on the heights, on the steep hillsides of Saint-Etienne la Varenne. This high altitude location, near the forests, gives more tension and freshness to the grapes, which makes it easier to vinify without sulfite. Enough to magnify this superb terroir of pure granite sands.
Winemaking
Manual harvest of intact grapes, placed in vats as quickly as possible. Fermentation at low temperature without any sulphite, with pumping over twice a day, to allow slow extraction. Vatting for around twenty days. Aging in vats, protected from oxygen.
Tasting
It is a crunchy Gamay, with a lovely attack of sweet fruits (cherry, kirsch) and a supple mouthfeel, both fresh and fleshy. A balanced structure with digestible tannins which releases a bright and delicious fruit.
