Overview
The 2015 Clos Floridène Rouge comes from the esteemed Graves region in Bordeaux. Crafted by the Guinaudeau family, this red wine is fermented and aged in oak barrels following organic and biodynamic principles, resulting in a balanced and expressive cuvée.
Tasting Notes
- Color: Deep ruby with garnet tinges.
- Aroma: Ripe black cherry, cassis, wild strawberry, hints of cedar, graphite and crushed stone.
- Palate: Juicy red and dark fruit flavors meet fine-grained tannins, refreshing acidity, baking spices and a subtle smoky mineral finish.
Vineyard & Winemaking
The estate’s gravelly, silty-clay soils impart a distinctive minerality, while biodynamic soil preparations and hand harvesting ensure optimal vine health. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled vats, followed by 12–14 months of ageing in French oak barrels (30% new) for added depth and structure.
Food Pairing
This versatile red wine pairs beautifully with:
- Roasted lamb or beef
- Game birds and rich poultry dishes
- Aged hard cheeses like Comté or Parmigiano-Reggiano
