E. Guigal - Côtes du Rhône
Vineyard
E.Guigal is one of the main wine producers in the Rhône Valley. The property was created by Étienne Guigal in 1946, but is currently owned by Philipe Guigal of the 3rd generation. The vineyard covers more than 215 hectares. They are distributed between the village of Ampuis and the surrounding communities. The vines are located on terroirs of the Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage and Saint-Joseph appellations. The house also produces other major southern appellations of the Rhône valley such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas and Tavel.
Winemaking
Winemaking is traditional. After a long maceration, the wine is aged for a year and a half in oak barrels.
