2022 Prieuré de Montézargues Tavel Rosé
Region & Terroir
Hailing from the historic Prieuré de Montézargues estate in the heart of Tavel, this 2022 Rosé showcases the unique terroir of the southern Rhône Valley. The vineyard sits on terraces of rolled pebbles (galets roulés), which retain heat by day and release it at night—ensuring optimal ripening and a signature mineral backbone.
Grape Varieties & Winemaking
This elegant blend is dominated by Grenache, complemented by Cinsault, Clairette and a touch of Syrah. Grapes are hand-harvested at peak maturity, gently pressed, and fermented at controlled temperatures to preserve freshness. No oak aging ensures the wine’s bright fruit and zesty acidity take center stage.
Tasting Notes
- Appearance: Pale salmon pink with shimmering copper highlights.
- Aroma: Intense notes of wild strawberry, ripe peach, rose petal and hints of Provençal herbs.
- Palate: Full-bodied yet balanced, offering flavors of red berry compote, white peach and subtle saline minerality, with a refreshing crisp finish.
