Overview of Victoria II 2ème Vin du Château Victoria
Victoria II is the second wine of Château Victoria, originating from the prestigious Haut-Médoc appellation in Bordeaux. Crafted to express elegance and authenticity, it embodies the estate’s commitment to terroir-driven quality.
Terroir and Vineyards
The vineyards lie on well-drained gravel and clay soils, benefiting from optimal sun exposure and maritime influence. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot vines of 20–30 years old yield grapes with concentrated flavors and fine tannic structure.
Winemaking and Aging
After a manual harvest, grapes undergo cold maceration and controlled-temperature fermentation in stainless-steel vats. The wine is then aged for 12–14 months in French oak barrels (30% new) to develop complexity, roundness and subtle oak nuances.
Tasting Notes
Color: Deep ruby red with violet highlights.
Nose: Layers of blackcurrant, ripe plum, graphite and a hint of vanilla.
Palate: Medium-bodied, luscious dark fruit framed by silky tannins and balanced acidity. Notes of cedar, tobacco and dark chocolate emerge on the finish.
Food Pairing
This versatile wine pairs beautifully with: roasted lamb, beef bourguignon, duck confit, hard cheeses such as Comté or Manchego, and earthy mushroom risottos.
