Château Smith Haut Lafitte is one of the oldest Bordeaux châteaux, dating back to 1365. Purchased in 1990 by Florence and Daniel Cathiard, and managed with passion, it has become one of the most renowned and prestigious in the world. The 80 hectares, all in one contiguous block, are farmed organically, certified since 2019, and employ biodynamic practices, notably the use of plants they cultivate themselves. They have their own nursery of mother vines, make their own compost, plant hedges, keep beehives...

Serving Suggestion:
Serve at 17-18°C with rabbit terrine or duck breast toasts. This wine is the perfect accompaniment to sautéed porcini mushrooms with herbs, white truffle risotto, or roast partridge with grapes.

Tasting Notes:
This wine has a very dark red, almost black, color. It opens with an intense bouquet of deep aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry. On the palate, structure and finesse are evident. It displays elegant, silky tannins, where black cherry and blackcurrant dominate, tinged with hints of cedar and tobacco.
