Estate and Terroir
Historic Côtes de Bourg Appellation
Nestled along the right bank of the Dordogne, Château de Barbe benefits from a unique clay–limestone terroir, ideal for cultivating Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The mild maritime climate ensures optimal ripening, producing grapes with concentrated flavors and refreshing acidity.
Winemaking Techniques
After hand-harvesting, the grapes undergo meticulous sorting and gentle crushing. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by ageing in French oak barrels for 12–18 months, allowing the wine to develop complexity and elegant structure.
