Château Suduiraut 1er Cru Classé Sauternes
Tasted blind during the horizontal tasting of Sauternes 2011. Château Suduiraut 2011 initially has a muted nose: dried honey and quince, scents of damp wool and almond paste which gradually open up with aeration . Coming back after 10 minutes, a comforting gingerbread note. The mouth is viscous upon entry and full of tension. There is a lively line of acidity here, quite linear at the beginning, but it unfolds well towards the finish and offers notes of honey, mandarin and even a touch of rhubarb! It's a class act, a Sauternes that doesn't need to shout about its intrinsic qualities.
