About Laroche Pinot Noir La Chevalière
Crafted by Domaine Laroche in the sun-baked vineyards of Languedoc-Roussillon, the La Chevalière Pays d'Oc Pinot Noir showcases the region’s best qualities. Under the IGP Pays d'Oc designation, winemaker Eric Boissenot combines modern techniques with meticulous vineyard care to produce an elegant, fruit-driven expression of Pinot Noir.
Terroir & Viticulture
Grapes are grown on gentle slopes of clay-limestone soils, where cool Mediterranean breezes preserve acidity and aromatics. The vines are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness to ensure balanced fruit concentration and freshness.
Winemaking Process
After gentle destemming, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. A portion of the wine spends 4–6 months in French oak barrels to add subtle spice and structure while preserving Pinot Noir’s characteristic finesse.
Tasting Notes
On the nose, expect bright aromas of red cherry, raspberry and a hint of wild strawberry. The palate is silky and medium-bodied, with supple tannins, notes of pomegranate and a touch of baking spice, leading to a smooth, lingering finish.
Food Pairing Suggestions
This versatile Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roast chicken, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto and soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert.
