2017 la Pommeraie Rouge de Brown Pessac-Léognan

2017 la Pommeraie Rouge de Brown Pessac-Léognan

La Pommeraie de Brown, Second wine of Château Brown

A name that we don’t owe to chance
A one-hectare apple orchard existed on the property for several decades, until the mid-1990s. The property was then curiously renowned for the quality of its apples. Uprooted in 1998, these apple trees gave way to splendid Cabernet Sauvignon vines and today the “Pommeraie de Brown” only exists through the name of one of our second wines, which pays homage to it…

The little brother of Château BROWN
The same care is taken in the production of the second wine, both in terms of viticulture and winemaking: harvest
manual, rigorous sorting of the grapes, aging in French oak barrels…
Meticulous plot selection makes the difference: the youngest vines as well as lots from lesser plots
qualitative than those dedicated to 1
er wine makes it up.
“Second wine of Château Brown, the grapes dedicated to this younger brother are identified with the plot, picked like their elders by hand
for the greatest respect of the fruit. A beautiful expression of gluttony…”-Jean-Christophe Mau, manager of Château Brown

Average age of vines:
• 20 years

Assembly :
• 58% Cabernet Sauvignon
• 42% Merlot

Degree: • 13.5°

Very beautiful intense, deep color with a purple reflection. Quite open nose but already very complex, with first of all resinous nuances of cedar wood evolving with agitation to roasted woody notes, chocolate, cigar. The palate is very supple and oily from the attack, evolving with great balance on a structure full of elegance and femininity. The finish is long, fragrant, highlighted by tannins full of sap and freshness.
