A fairly light color for the vintage, announcing a fairly lively and floral fruit on a background of small red fruits.

Short Description

The 2015 Château Larrivaux Haut-Médoc showcases the very best of Bordeaux’s Left Bank. A blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot in support, it delivers ripe blackberry, cassis and hints of graphite underpinned by refined tannins.

This wine offers immediate appeal thanks to its plush texture and supple mid-palate, while an undercurrent of minerality and cedar promises graceful aging for another decade or more. Pair with roasted lamb, hearty stews or aged cheeses to elevate any special occasion.

Appellation & Terroir

Located on the gravelly slopes of the Haut-Médoc, Château Larrivaux benefits from well-draining soils that stress the vines just enough to concentrate flavor. The Atlantic influence brings moderate temperatures and consistent breezes, ensuring healthy ripening and vibrant acidity.

Grape Composition & Winemaking

This vintage is typically composed of ~60% Cabernet Sauvignon and ~40% Merlot. Hand-harvested fruit is sorted and fermented in temperature-controlled vats. Post-fermentation, the wine spends 12–16 months aging in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new, adding subtle notes of vanilla, smoke and spice.

Tasting Notes

Color: Deep ruby with garnet edges.
Nose: Layers of blackcurrant, dark cherry, graphite, baking spices and a hint of violet.
Palate: Full-bodied and harmonious, with firm yet polished tannins, juicy acidity and a core of plum, blackberry and toasted oak. The finish is long, finishing on notes of tobacco leaf and crushed gravel.

Aging Potential & Cellaring

Already approachable in its youth, the 2015 Château Larrivaux will continue to develop greater complexity over 8–12 years. Cellar in a cool, humid environment at 12–14°C for optimal evolution.
