Discover the 2023 Château Beautrand Monbazillac

The 2023 vintage of Château Beautrand Monbazillac represents the pinnacle of sweet white winemaking in Bergerac. Nestled on limestone-rich slopes overlooking the Dordogne River, this estate leverages botrytis-affected Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes to craft a wine of exceptional complexity and finesse.

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: Brilliant gold with amber highlights.
  • Aroma: Intense notes of candied apricot, orange blossom, wild honey, and gingerbread.
  • Palate: Layers of ripe peach, pineapple, and citrus marmalade, balanced by vibrant acidity and a silky texture.
  • Finish: Long, honeyed finale with a touch of apricot kernel and spice.

Winemaking & Terroir

Grapes are hand-harvested in multiple passes to ensure optimal botrytis concentration. Gentle pressing and cold stabilization preserve aromatic intensity. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats before aging in fine French oak barrels for six months, adding depth and subtle vanilla nuances.

Pairing & Serving Suggestions

This Monbazillac excels alongside rich dishes and desserts: foie gras on brioche, Roquefort or Stilton cheeses, almond tart Tatin, and crème brûlée. Serve chilled at 10–12 °C (50–54 °F) to accentuate its refreshing acidity and aromatic purity.
