Côte de Nuits Frédéric Magnien

Côte de Nuits-Villags Frédéric Magnien

Frédéric Magnien - Cœur de Roches

Burgundy - Côte de Nuits-Villages AOP

From Dijon to Corgoloin, the Côte de Nuits extends over twenty kilometers and covers an area of 1,500 hectares. The particularity of the soil in Côte de Nuits is its ancient limestone layer, called “Middle Jurassic”, which dates back 160 to 180 million years. This vintage is a blend of terroirs from plots on hillsides, on a geological fault where the subsoil is made up of deep, raw, limestone parent rock, with a little earth on the surface. The roots of the vine infiltrate the cracks of the rock and distill the minerals, essential elements of the fresh and crystalline texture of this wine with lively and chiselled tannins.

The harvest is manual and is followed by complete destemming. There is no crushing and vatting is carried out by gravity before cold pre-fermentation maceration. Manual punching down is carried out and aging then takes place in barrels then in vats.

The nose is both complex and fruity with aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and morello cherry. Pinot Noir expresses itself with notes of spices and pepper. The attack is fresh and mineral, which gives this wine a nice fullness on the palate.
