Wine Spectator: CHÂTEAU PONTET-CANET
Pauillac 2008
Score: 92

Tasting Note
Quite dense, but pure and fresh, with the core of fig, damson plum and mulled cherry fruit already well-defined, and the back end of rounded loam and roasted cedar grip fully integrated. The finish is long and powerful. Best from 2013 through 2020.

Wine Spectator: CHÂTEAU PONTET-CANET
Pauillac 2011
Score: 92

Tasting Note
This cuts a broad swath, with prominent notes of espresso and ganache leading to the core of crushed plum and blackberry confiture. Lush, with the ganache edge joining a loamy hint to underscore the finish. Consistent with the barrel tasting, this shows more breadth than cut in the end. Best from 2016 through 2026.

Wine Spectator: CHÂTEAU PONTET-CANET
Pauillac 2012
Score: 92

Tasting Note
Broad and fleshy, with an alluring feel to the layers of steeped plum, blackberry coulis and raspberry reduction notes, all gliding over ample but polished tannins. Loam, tobacco and warm stone accents stay in the background for now but add steady base notes to the finish. Packs in solid fruit for the vintage, with a commensurate tug of earth. Best from 2017 through 2025.

Wine Spectator: CHÂTEAU PONTET-CANET
Pauillac 2013
Score: 89

Tasting Note
Very distinctive, with red and black currant fruit jumping out, picking up dried anise, violet and savory notes along the way. Very finely beaded acidity carries the finish, which has sneaky length. Atypical for the overt and highly aromatic profile, this has charming purity but remains noticeably shy on depth. Drink now through 2020.

Wine Spectator: CHÂTEAU PONTET-CANET
Pauillac 2014
Score: 93

Tasting Note
This delivers a notable menthol note, showing an ample core of well-steeped blackberry, plum and black currant fruit. A bright anise streak checks in on the back end, with a slightly loamy structure imparting a broad feel through the finish. Needs to pull together a bit more, but the fruit is there. Best from 2020 through 2030.
